Stephen De Souza is a Board Certified
Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in diseases and
surgery of the Retina, Vitreous and Macula. He has
practiced Vitreoretinal Surgery and Diagnosis for
over 10 years in Toronto, Canada and in Arizona.
Dr. De Souza completed two degrees while at the
University of Ottawa in Canada: a medical degree and
a bachelor of medical science in biochemistry. An
internship in Internal Medicine followed at the
Ottawa General Hospital and a residency in
Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. De Souza has completed two fellowships in
Vitreoretinal Diagnosis and Surgery at the
University of Toronto and at the Royal Eye Hospital,
University of Manchester in England.
He is a member of the Department of Ophthalmology,
University of Toronto. He has had his research
published in various ophthalmology journals.
Dr. De Souza is also a Fellow of the Royal College
of Surgeons of Canada, a Fellow of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the
American Society of Retina Specialists. He is
licensed in Arizona and Ontario.
Dr. De Souza is fluent in French. He, his wife
Sherry and their two children reside in Scottsdale.
